The class in traditional Chinese painting was taught by rnowned stage performer, artist and calligrapher, Mr. Yang Yi Xiao and assisted by Rose Oliver with translation.

Mr. Yang introduced the background and particular techniques, which are inherent in Chinese painting, taking Carla and her parents through the basics of ink paintings and the various styles and methods of using the brushes, ink and water, as well as demonstrating some of the varied strokes used for laying on colour, shade and depth.

Carla’s parents who are both amateur artists enjoyed a wonderful view of Chinese traditional culture and art, thank you to Mr. Yang Yi Xiao for his patience and generosity; the Matoses family were over the moon with the paintings presented to them as gifts by Mr. Yang at the end of the lesson.
