On 27th April, Double Dragon Alliance in cooperation with Shanghai Expat Association, welcomed SEA members to a fun, interactive and informative workshop on TCM Tuina, bone and joint alignment or in Chinese – Zheng Gu.
???
Filmed by ICS TV channel, for a co-production ICS is conducting with the UK’s BBC, which is following DDA’s Rose Oliver’s life here in Shanghai, the event hosted 8 participants from the international community, who first learned about how the body’s skeletal structure is put together and how the tuina practitioner will gently manipulate and realign the patient’s body, optimizing their circulation, relieving discomfort, tonifying their system and boosting their energy levels.
???
Many of us suffer from aches and pains, with our joints feeling stiff and uncomfortable, or just feel plain tired and lethargic.?
TCM places great emphasis on tuina massage, and the cleansing and flushing of the meridians, but equally, many patients need their bones and structure realigned, requiring a “body or skeletal” overhaul to relieve pain or restriction of movement.
???
At the workshop, Master Liu Hong Cai, a renowned Chen Style Taiji Master, Qigong specialist and TCM doctor, aided in translation by DDA’s Rose Oliver, demonstrated how tuina is used to realign the joints, particularly the upper and lower spine and showed how the participants could help themselves and their loved ones achieve the correct posture and relieve common joint and structural problems.
??
Assisted by Master Wang Ming Bo, plus DDA disciple Professor Luo Ji Feng, Taiji students and Shanghai University students Joan, Clare, Ricky and Zoe, the workshop included lots of hands-on treatment and tips for maintaining good health and mobility, with everyone enjoying Master Liu’s tremendous skills and recuperative powers.
?
The workshop was held in cooperation with Dr Li Yong at his Conjoint Health Advisory Centre, 20th Floor No.15 Jin Yang Tower, Lane 362 Cao Yang Rd, Pu Tuo District, Shanghai. ?
Thanks again to Abarna at SEA, we look forward to our next event with SEA on 12th May, introducing Peking Opera to the international guests.
