BCC – Business Professionals Talk on Customer Service

Ms. Na Young Mathiesen of ‘At Your Service’ Co. Ltd, a new business startup, came to the British Cultural Centre (BCC) to introduce our students at the University of Shanghai for Science & Technology (USST) to the concept of customer service and how to develop soft skills for business and service industries.?
Na Young delivered a great talk, and was really useful for not just our own students, but also for everyone involved in the service industry, especially in China, where service industries are still a new field and are only just beginning to recognize the need for more sophisticated staff training techniques.
Typically, university students in China as in many other parts of the world are not exposed to the value of personal and professional development, with the emphasis being more on gaining academic qualifications, rather than ‘people skills’. ?
We hope more students will have the opportunity to listen to similar talks by such entrepreneurs as Na Young, and look forward to working with more such great speakers and professionals from Fresh Start Rotary Club of Shanghai among others, at the BCC in the future.?
