Our tea tasting event was held on Saturday 27th February at the Cai Yun Jian Tea Emporium on Gong He Xin Road, this time in cooperation with Mr. Liu Jian’s BHBsystem Cultural Centre.
Despite the wet weather a large number of guests from a variety of nationalities came to enjoy an afternoon enjoying some delicious Chinese teas, like green, oolong, pu er and gunpowder tea, learn how to brew the teas correctly in order to bring out their best flavour, plus watch some wonderful performances of Taiji, Chinese Animal Qigong, the Norwegian violin and calligraphy.
???
Master Wang Ming Bo provided the guests with a short demonstration of Yang Style Taiji and invited some of the guests to learn a few of the applications and self defence techniques, plus experience how they felt to be on their receiving end!

Ms Evelyne Tissier, a regular guest and supporter of Double Dragon Alliance, once again performed a couple of pieces on the violin and traditional Norwegian fiddle, much to the delight of the guests.

And Ms Wang from the Xin Shenzhou Gallery provided the guests with an impromptu calligraphy “lesson” and wrote several characters for a lucky New Year of the Tiger, which were handed out to some of the guests as gifts.
??
The mixture of Chinese and western guests also had plenty of time to enjoy each other’s company, chat and discuss the various teas they tasted, ably supported by several of Rose Oliver’s students from Shanghai University, Shanghai University for Science and Technology and Fudan University, who helped translate and explain the various histories and preparation methods of the different teas.
