Double Dragon Alliance recently held a free social evening party to launch the new DDA membership card scheme.?
The party, which was held in cooperation with Citta Cafe and the British Consulate’s Cultural & Education Section, at the British Council of Shanghai’s offices, 318 Fu Zhou Rd, was attended by over 60 guests, from all parts of the world, including China, USA, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey among others, and turned out to be a truly international event!

The evening, was great fun, featuring a variety of performances including the Chinese Harp (Gu Zheng 古筝) by Ms Mary Ma from Hong Yue Cultural Centre, Taiji Quan performances featuring both Yang and Wu styles and some push hands demonstrations by Master Liu Ji Fa and Master Wang Ming Bo and students, exotic Belly Dancing by the president of the Shi Jie Dance Club (and students), an impromptu Peking Opera performance by Ms Yang Ya Nan, some Chinese massage (Tuina) by members of Dr Li Yong’s clinic and endless supplies of delicious tea from Mr Jason Huang’s “Gu Xin Tea Shop”.

There was plenty of time for the guests to socialize, chat and make new friends from all nationalities and walks of life, as well as enjoy the fruity South African red wines, Chinese Pu Er Teas and western-style cakes and biscuits on offer, as well as enjoy the delicious fare at Citta Cafe.Plus enjoy the wonderful performances and demonstrations from the masters and special guests!?

All together, it was a wonderful evening, which we hope to repeat in the very near future, to give everyone another chance to catch up with old friends, plus make new ones, whilst taking a welcome, relaxing break from the fast pace of Shanghai life.?
