After almost 20 years since Rose and her late husband Rey invited Rey’s teacher Sifu Michael Phillips to the UK to teach several Taiji seminars, Rose and Michael finally enjoyed a reunion.
?Rose had a wonderful time catching up with her old and dear friend, and taiji teacher Michael and his wife Susan in Tucson, Arizona, in their home overlooking Mount Lemon, close to El Charro National Park’s Saguaro Forest.?
It was delightful to catch up after nearly two decades; Michael looks barely a day older than when we were all last together, when he came to stay in the UK.?
The last time we were together was back in Bury St Edmunds, in the UK in 1996; we organized some workshops around several locations in England, including Cambridge, London and bury St Edmunds, where Rose and Rey had their Taiji school; ETCIARA.?
Michael taught his wonderful ‘Kaimen’ or ‘Opening the Gates’ set and some of his dynamic, and rejuvenating qigong exercise sets, all of which were very well received by the ETCIARA students and workshop participants.
It was lovely to catch up again and rekindle our friendship, remember Rey and spend several amazing days in Tucson with Michael and Susan, visiting the Sabino Canyon, the Tanque Verde Dude Ranch, the El Charro National Park, Saguaro Forest, climb the mountain trails and dine on sumptuous banquets of traditional Tex-Mex cuisine!
What beautiful scenery to witness in the company of such great and lovely friends, I felt truly honoured!
