??
On 12th April, DDA invited Professor Louis Shu to give a talk on “Sheng Xiao Bazi” or Chinese Astrology, at the Tun Run Teahouse, 199 Heng Shan Road.?
??
Professor Shu, who hails from Taiwan and received his PHD in Traditional Chinese Medicine acupuncture treatment at Shanghai’s TCM College and his PHD in Computer Engineering from Michigan State University in the USA; is a lifelong enthusiast and researcher of traditional Chinese culture, particularly the study of the Yi Jing or “Book of Changes”, as well as in the fields of TCM, Feng Shui and Astrology.
??
He has developed his own systematic approach to uncovering and disseminating these ancient philosophies, to bring them into the understanding of the modern generation.
???
The lecture was attended by around 30 guests from both the local and international communities, including respected and well-noted scholar and author Professor Luo Jian Ping?of the Shanghai Yi Jing Research Association, himself a highly skilled proponent of Bazi and Feng Shui.
???
Professor Shu’s talk attempted to break down the mysteries of Bazi and give a fuller background to and introduction of the origin and philosophy of the art of astrological birth charting, plus its correlations and interactions with Feng Shui and TCM, all of which play a significant role in understanding the map of a person’s health, luck, fortune and life.
?
The?lecture was a fascinating insight into this complex and mysterious subject and we plan to hold a further series of talks with Professor Shu; divided into elementary, intermediate and advanced courses, to further explain how a person’s life is charted through their birth characters and related environmental influences, plus answer more questions related to participants’ personal circumstances.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our event and many thanks to Professor Shu for such a wonderful talk.
