DDA’s recently held martial arts demonstration and informal training session featured Masters Liu Ji Fa, Wu Mao Gui, Liu Hong Cai, Lu Zhi Liang, Wang Ming Bo and Luo Ying Liang, both performing and teaching at the Shanghai Earthquake Centre.
The Saturday morning session, introduced a mixed audience of Chinese and Western guests to a variety of martial arts forms, namely: Wu Style Taiji, Tong Bei Quan, Chen Style Taiji, Yang Style Taiji and Tong Bei Broadsword forms; as well as allowing them to feel for themselves the different masters particular specialities.

The workshop also covered several basic training exercises from each style, which allowed the guests to get a real flavour of that specific art, and although some of the participants were new practitioners, they could still experience the genuine artistry involved in the individual styles and appreciate the skill shown by all the masters.
The event, was also filmed by Kaimu Productions on behalf of the International Channel of Shanghai (ICS) Television Company, who are interviewing Rose Oliver for their “Shanghai Quest” programme, which is due to be shown at the end of March.

Following the workshop, we all shared a banquet lunch together as a further chance to chat, exchange information and simply enjoy each others company.
We hope to organize such similar events on a more regular basis, for both new and experienced practitioners alike, as it gives everyone a chance to see and feel for themselves, the benefits of traditional Chinese martial arts and the pure magic of the masters themselves
