On 6th April 2007, Double Dragon Alliance organized the 2nd TCM & Tuina introductory seminar, in conjunction with the British Consulate’s Cultural and Education Centre in Shanghai.
The party of mainly British teachers, who were on an educational tour of Chinese schools in the Shanghai area; were invited by their hosts the British Council, to the Tian Shan Road Learning Centre, to experience an interactive introduction to Chinese massage or Tuina, organized by Rose Oliver of Double Dragon Alliance.
The aim of the event was to offer the guests a “real taste” of traditional Chinese culture, learn more about this ancient system of health care, as well as give the participants a wonderful opportunity to relax and recuperate.
For many of the party, it was their first experience of Tuina massage and after a few initial qualms (from those who’d never tried it before) everyone settled into the calm and soothing atmosphere, and under the expert care of the highly skilled physicians and therapists, the guests soon drifted into a state of complete relaxation and comfort.
The participants all remarked that it had been an extremely enjoyable and rewarding experience, which was also facilitated by the warm, friendly and enthusiastic help of the University students, invited by Rose Oliver, to accompany and assist the guests.
All in all, it was a marvelous evening, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone; guests, students and therapists alike!
We hope to organize another similar event in the very near future.
