Jerel Bonner, CEO of ‘Sharpening Axes’ Co. Ltd, gave a talk to DDA members and guests about management effectiveness and staying ahead of the competition, for both employees and employers.
?Jerel is a long-term Toastmasters speaker and author of the forthcoming book “Sharpening China’s Talent”.
He works as an ‘Employee Engagement’ consultant, and has been advising and coaching senior level managers and supervisors of employees working for MNCs in China for 5 years, after a 23-year career in IT.?
Jerel has been in China for many years, both as a business consultant and teacher, and has made presentations to business audiences around the world.
During his time in the north of China he began his studies in Mandarin, and also has an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture in the work environment.
Jerel’s talk focused on the “Six Competencies” theory he has devised for effective work planning, execution, and personal achievement; focusing on how managers can optimize their own talents and management skills in order to maximize their staff’s potential; and how employees can optimize their own potential and work prospects by continual self-improvement, thereby increasing their value in the job market.
