Master craftsman and jewellery designer, Mr. Liu Hong Bao held the opening ceremony for his first
jewellery?exhibition on Wednesday?9th?January, at Shanghai’s “Small White House” Museum of
Arts & Crafts.?

DDA’s Rose Oliver and the vice-curator of the museum, Mr. Chen Yu Qi,?acted as hosts for the opening
ceremony, which included?dignitaries from Shanghai’s Municipal Government, arts and crafts masters,
the media, the British Consulate’s?Cultural & Education Section, Shanghai Aircraft Design & Research
Institute of the Commercial Aircraft?Corporation of China, Shanghai Calligraphy and Arts Association
and other arts and crafts enthusiasts?and?fans.?

The opening ceremony began with an introduction to several of the leaders, including, Mr. Luo Zhi Wei,
Mr. Luo Qin and Mr. Yin Wei Dong, who also spoke a few words of congratulations for the success of the
exhibition and encouragement for future deign projects and innovation in both jewellery and other industries
in Shanghai, and was then followed by a short speech of thanks and introduction to his work, by Mr. Liu
Hong Bao himself.

Rose also acted as interpreter throughout the event, to facilitate understanding for the foreign guests.?

After the exhibition was declared officially open by Mr. Shen Guo Chen, the guests retired to the exhibition
hall to feast their eyes on Mr. Liu’s beautiful creations and enjoy the beauty and radiance of the exquisite
gems and gold and silver jewellery used in his designs.

The very enthusiastic audience were dazzled by the display and a wonderful time was had by all.

It was an extremely cultured and joyfully aesthetic exhibition. Thank you to Mr. Liu Hong Bao and
