The students taking part in this programme are enrolled in an exclusive and intensive language programme and area studies course here in Shanghai, which requires the students to only speak in Chinese, with English language being prohibited to encourage greater Chinese language proficiency.
They also need to participate in a variety of cultural activities and other projects, designed to give them a better understanding of China, Chinese culture and society.
