Veronique’s family’s private, specially tailored cultural workshops continued with a calligraphy class on 27th July.

DDA’s Master Wang Ming Bo took the family group through the basics of calligraphy brush strokes, as well as some of the history and principles behind calligraphy, as well as Chinese culture. Assisting were Rose Oliver, who acted as translator, plus Tiffany and Coco, two of Rose’s students from Shanghai University.

The wonderfully tranquil atmosphere helped everyone gain a deeper insight into the philosophy underpinning Chinese culture, in addition to some of the therapeutic effects of practicing the art of Chinese handwriting.

The evening ended with a presentation of calligraphy scrolls by Master Wang’s father, who had written several ancient Chinese poems, for the Lepeudry family to take back to France after their short Shanghai trip.
