DDA’s Rose Oliver was invited as a speaker at Shanghai University’s “2014 International Culture and Global Education Event”, designed to introduce students to the overseas development of SHU, the university’s annual achievements and further educational opportunities for SHU students.
The event kicked off with a dance by members of the international student body, performing a traditional dance in their home country’s traditional costumes.
?
Following, their were several reports on SHU’s progress and overseas development and collaborations with overseas educational institutions; introductions by several key speakers, including Professor Virginie Juillard of France, Rose Oliver of the UK, and Matthew Williams of Australia, about studying and living abroad and an interactive Q & A forum.
The three international experts delivered brief presentations about international education and everyday life abroad, what components to consider when deciding which countries and institutions to go to and what majors students to choose.
The event was fun, informative and a chance for many students to ask questions and interact with the international teachers.
To end, there was a fashion show by the Art and Fashion Design Department, featuring some of their ‘Paris’ designs.
Thank you to the university’s faculty for organizing the event and for all the students’ contributions!
