Dear Rose
?
This is just a brief note to say thank you for visiting us in Wotton under Edge in July.? It was a privilege to meet Master Shou, Guan Shun and receive his teaching of Shen jin ba gu.? He is very impressive.? I particularly liked the fact that he chose to concentrate on one subject and to teach it thoroughly in the limited time available, rather than cover more, but less.? I suspect that this is a very advanced technique for a raw novice like myself to know!? I am practicing it almost every day now, before my taiji, and I find it very beneficial and energising.? I can certainly feel the difference.? Is there a way of coordinating breathing with the movement, or is this not necessary?
??? Please pay my respects to Master Shou and thank him.? Thank you too; without your translation and explanations we would not have understood anything!
?
Secondly, I’ve read the details of your “Chinese culture and martial arts training camp” in November.? Unfortunately I would not be able to attend this year, but I am seriously considering it for next year, if you are organising something similar.? my particular interests are Chen style taijiquan (Laojia yi lu), Qi gong and Daoism (of the kind that Alan Watts called “philosophical”).
?
Thank you.
