A great time was had by all who attended the “International Experts Shanghai Bowling Championships” rematch in Shanghai at the start of the New Year.
The foreign experts, which included DDA’s Rose Oliver, plus other int’l experts who were invited by the Shanghai Municipal Government and SAFEA to meet President Xi Jin Ping and attend the “Foreign Experts Symposium” in 2014, came together to enjoy international friendship and talk about their life and work experiences in Shanghai.
Around 7 participated, from Armenia, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the UK; it was a nice-size group and of course all great fun, with several “competitors” enjoying some great strikes!?
This was a special occasion, as it was the first time that the international experts had facilitated a meeting amongst themselves, along the lines of international friendship and cooperation instigated by the Shanghai Municipal Government, and as such may have important impact on the furtherance of offering support and advice to both new and existing expats and international residents making their lives in China.
We sincerely hope this will be the first of many such fun activities, which ultimately help in according greater collaboration between the international community working in Shanghai and the Shanghai government officials, who strive to make our lives both more comfortable and welcoming in our second home.
