Our 3rd annual martial arts training camp ended successfully on 23rd November.
This year our guests included participants from around Europe, including the UK, France, Holland and Finland, as well as the States and Canada, in addition to several expat guests resident in Shanghai.

The camp started on 15th November with a seminar on Yang Style push hands with Master Shou Guan Shun, focusing on the movement “Grasp the Bird’s Tail” in basic pushing hands patterns.
Master Shou took the participants through the ward-off, rollback, press, push sequence as well as staff and spear training to build “nei jing” or internal power.
All the participants got to try the spear thrusts, which proved Master Shou’s internal power, as some people found the spear difficult to lift up in the correct handgrip!

Following the seminar, we went on a sightseeing tour of Shanghai, where everyone got to catch up with some of their gift shopping for family members and friends back home.
We also got to take in some of Shanghai’s lesser known areas, which generally tourists don’t get a chance to see, including some of the traditional old “Hu tong” housing, with small alleys running between the now “protected” houses.
