Founded by Dr. Jay and Shifu Kathleen, they are our ‘unofficial’ sister school in NC. Dr. Jay and Kathleen are two great teachers, holding regular workshops, social gatherings and weekly classes for their wonderful group. Jim’s video features movements from the first section of the form as taught to us by Master Dong Bin, with Jim singing as his students also perform the set, all against a backdrop of fantastic landscapes of mountains and craggy cliff top vistas! DDA are honoured to teach Jim; who has been one of our most ardent and loyal supporters over the years; and our late teacher Master Dong Bin would be absolutely thrilled to see his form in Jim’s video in Australia!

Kalila has been teaching for 29 years and has been involved in movement and dance instruction, as well as producing shows since the early 70’s. She also teaches for ‘Kaiser Permanente’, whose background is in the healthcare industry.

Shanghai Expat Association (SEA) 🇨🇳
The foremost expat social group in Shanghai. Originating almost 40 years ago, the association has thousands of members, offers a monthly programme of regular activities, small group classes, trips, tours and social gatherings. DDA have held regular Taiji, TCM and calligraphy activities with SEA over the last ten years.

An expat association founded for expats living and working in Shanghai, this active social group has collaborated with DDA in Shanghai hosting introductory Taiji seminars and talks on Chinese culture for their members.
Julie Netti 🇺🇸
One of DDA’s first students on our TCM & Tuina Internship Programme with Dr Li Yong’s Conjoint Health Advisory Service, Julie has also arranged Taiji workshops in Boston and been a staunch ally in helping disseminate TCM practice and theory in the US and Europe.
