Taiji yin yang bian wu chang – The integral component of Taiji is yin and yang, or an inherent quality of infinite change and formlessness.
Gang rou xiang ji – rigidity and malleability are combined as inseparable parts of a whole.
Jing li lian – the inherent power is latent within, not manifested outwardly.
Xing song yi yi, qi nei ju – whilst the external structure remains soft and relaxed, the internal power, intention and vigour concentrate like steel.
Wai si qing rou, nei jian gang – the external structure of the body, (bones, muscles, sinew) must remain soft and tranquil, so the opponent cannot read what we will do; whilst the internal power is strong, firm, powerful and concentrated.
Jie jie guan chuan, wai san he – every joint of the body must connect and integrate the whole body; the 3 external harmonies must be synchronized.
Dan tian nei zhuan, xing yu wai – the Dan Tian moves internally and ultimately moves the external structure.
Wai xu song chen, tong xuan guan – allow the structure of the body to feel like it sinks downwards, the internal body is connected and the energy flows freely.
Nei qiu ling huo, zhuang lian he – although the internal power must be alive and agile, the external structure and appearance must be placid and tranquil.
Yi qi jun lai, gu rou chen – the will and the energy/internal power are the commanders, the bones and sinew the ground troops.
Hui yin huo xian, sui xin bian – suddenly appearing, suddenly disappearing, it is the heart and mind that direct the changes and movements, not the physical structure.
Qi shi wu duan, bian wu chang – in combat, the opponent does not know how the strike comes, the movements are ceaseless and without form.
Xu xu shi shi, kuai man jian – both emptiness and fullness and quickness and slowness coexist.
Bian shi long she, jing gui shen – moving like a dragon or a snake, even ghosts will fear you.
Yi pian shen xing, fan zi ran – however the practitioner moves or appears, everything accords with what is natural.
