Dr. Li, a regular cooperator with DDA and partner in their joint TCM internship programme, introduced the group of 15 students and their teachers to TCM’s approach to health, diagnostics and treatment, in addition to extolling its virtues in comparison to some of western medicine’s approaches to illness; answered questions from the guests related to general overall health, in addition to their own particular health concerns and ailments; plus taught them some commonly used massage techniques and acupressure points to relieve a variety of disorders and conditions.

Some members of the group also got to experience acupuncture treatment for their own health complaints, especially several suffering from old sports injuries; with Dr. Li first massaging the afflicted area or the equivalent part on the upper/lower limbs, then following up with acupuncture, which the guests found surprisingly helpful.

Thank you to Dr. Li, Mr. Wang Ming Bo, as well as DDA assistants from Shanghai University, Catherine, Eclipse, Emma and Sue for all their help.

The party of American students will next take part in a Chinese tea and jade appreciation activity on 20th May, also organized by DDA, at the Chinese Jade Emporium and Culture Centre, near Century Park.
