Grandmaster Sun Lu Tang’s Beijing/Shanghai Association’s Annual Reunion

??

Double Dragon Alliance representatives, Rose Oliver, Wang Ming Bo and Lu Zhi Liang were invited to participate at the recent Sun Lu Tang Association’s annual martial arts lunch and reunion.
The event was organized by Master Shou Guan Shun and was attended by many high level masters from Beijing, Tian Jin and Shanghai, including one of Grandmaster Sun’s great-granddaughters and 4th generation title-holder of the Sun family.

The event started with an introduction of the guests and a brief talk by Master Shou about some of Sun Family’s Hsing-Yi and Taiji training methods, as well as some of Master Shou’s own experiences in many years of practice.
Following the introductions and speeches, many of the masters performed some sequences of Hsing-yi, Ba Gua (including a performance by Master Chen An Tian) and Yang and Sun Style Taiji Quan.

After the wonderful performances, Master Shou invited all the participants and guests to a nearby restaurant for a delicious lunch and a chance to discuss Taiji and internal arts, and generally socialize and enjoy each other’s company.

The morning was a very interesting and enjoyable one and Master Shou, who recently taught at our 2008 Shanghai martial arts training camp; offered the martial arts community a rare chance to get together, swap stories and understanding of internal arts and provide everyone a chance to cement old friendships whilst making new ones.
It also proved that martial artists from all styles, backgrounds and nationalities can meet, exchange ideas and information, preserve the integrity of their own styles without compromising anyone else’s.
I hope that we can all meet again at similar events in the future, and would like to say thank you to Master Shou for organizing this event and for his very kind invitation.
