The expo showed such a wide range of wonderful exhibits that it was impossible to see everything, but the beautiful works shown were definitely worth braving the minus 12 degrees temperature in Beijing!
???
After the expo finished on Sunday 21st, along with Mr Ren Gang and other members of Yong He Tang’s company, I was lucky enough to go on a tour of the Olympic stadium, and get a real bird’s-eye view of the amazing Bird’s Nest and Water Cube facilities.
With a guided tour of the VIP tower, from the 5th floor we had a wonderful vista overlooking the Bird’s Nest stadium and the avenue leading up to the Water Cube.

Seen close up like that, I could really appreciate the scale and workmanship that went into creating this fantastic structure and had an even greater sense and appreciation of how much work and effort goes on into putting together such a spectacle as the Olympics.
I could really sense how much love and labour the Chinese had put into making the Olympic Games such a success.

Having watched the breathtaking opening ceremony at home on the television, I felt very privileged to have had the chance to look around the Tower’s luxurious space and see the whole Olympic arena for myself. It really was a very enjoyable experience and left a lasting impression on my visit to the capital.
