“Daoist Medicine: A Healthy Approach to Modern Living”

 

 

Double Dragon Alliance Cultural Centre are proud to host a workshop on Daoist Medicine and Daoist theories for healthy living, to be given by Mr. Rene Goris of the International Oriental College.
Rene, who is now 46, has been practicing Qigong and Yoga since age 11 and been a practicing Daoist since age 25, living for over 10 years with the Zhengyi Wudang Daoist Sect in Wudang Mountains.
His own teaching centre was established in Amsterdam in 1997, which teaches BA, MA and PhD courses in Daoist Philosophy, Daoist Medicine and TCM, among others.

At the talk, Rene will cover several issues including:

 

Daoism as a modern idea,
What is Daoist Medicine?
Harmonizing contradictions as a life style,
Typical healthy practices in Daoist Medicine and in what way are they different from what we already know or practice?
Can Daoist health skills do without a Daoist ideology?
The clash between a modern and an ancient science,
How do practicing Daoist skills alter our way of life?
How can we benefit society and our families by being healthy?
