Having been invited to previous Edgar Miller Legacy events, plus donated to help restoration of some of his artistic designs, DDA’s Rose Oliver and her husband Collin were honoured to get a chance to visit and enjoy the exquisite architecture and artistry of one of Edgar Miller’s houses in Chicago!

Hosted by Jeff Cruz, representative of the Edgar Miller Legacy in Chicago, the guests were treated to a fabulous lunch cooked by Jeff’s mother and a private viewing of the five-storey home, and the opportunity to revere the life and legacy of this Chicago native’s architectural and artistic design heritage.

“While most well-known for his awe-inspiringly meticulously crafted Handmade Homes in Chicago, Edgar Miller matured professionally as an artist-designer just as the practice of modern graphic design was being pioneered in the 1920s through 1930s. This year’s temporary exhibition — The Timeless Modern — explores the evolution of Miller’s graphic design work, reflecting the revolutionary changes in media, messaging, and aesthetics of the time.”
