Double Dragon Alliance director, Rose Oliver was recently invited to attend the opening of Grandmaster Deng Fu Xing’s Martial Arts School in Pudong, Shanghai.
??
The event was coordinated and organized by one of Grandmaster Deng’s disciples, Master Wang Sen Lin, who was Rose’s husband, Rey Nelson’s He Bei Hsing Yi teacher in Shanghai.
The opening ceremony was attended by over 100 guests as well as over 25 special guests and VIP’s including some of Shanghai’s famous He Bei Hsing Yi lineage holders and their representatives.
The event, held in the martial arts’ school practice hall, was celebrated by demonstrations of some of Grandmaster Deng’s disciples and their students, as well as by Grandmaster Deng himself.
??
The event culminated in several group photographs followed by a delicious banquet lunch.
Grandmaster Deng, who teaches in South America as well as in Shanghai; is a very generous and honourable traditional teacher, who hopes to keep the flame of traditional Hsing Yi flourishing amongst students of all nationalities.
Aided by his disciple, Master Wang Sen Lin and his many other disciples and students in Shanghai and around the world, I’m sure that their endeavours will be met with success, and enthusiasm from like-minded students of traditional martial arts all over the world.
??
Genuine and generous traditional teachers like Grandmaster Deng and Master Wang are indeed a rarity nowadays and it was an honour to be asked to participate in and support their event.
My deep thanks to them both, and to Master Wang and his family and students for their continued kindness and support.
