Double Dragon Alliance will be organizing a series of workshops around the UK featuring Master Wu Mao Gui of Shanghai, from 26th April to 4th May 2008.
Master Wu is a master of Tong Bei Quan and one of the foremost martial artists in Shanghai.
Tong Bei, which translated means the power emanates from and through the back (and is not related to Monkey Fist) is an extremely effective system, both in terms of promoting good health and in connecting and opening the entire body; as well as being a very efficient form of self defence.
Tong Bei’s history is also related to Chen Style Taiji and Tong Bei has a very strong internal flavour, especially in the utilization of the Dan Tian and whole body power, and in its cultivation and use of the spirit and energy.
Master Wu’s seminars will focus on Tong Bei’s basic foundation training exercises, which are suitable for practitioners of all types of martial arts, and are designed to connect the body to become a unified, integrated yet relaxed and vigorous whole unit; in addition to opening and relaxing the joints, to allow the power and energy to flow freely throughout the entire body.
There will also be seminars on push hands and Tong Bei’s sparring techniques.
