Double Dragon Alliance recently supported Mr Xu Zhi Wen’s 50th Anniversary Art Exhibition, organized by Ms Wang San Mei, a very well known and highly respected art promoter in Shanghai.
The event was sponsored by Mr Lin Yu Hua’s Shanghai Yuan Yan Art and Culture Company.DDA were responsible for organizing and looking after the party of special foreign VIP guests attending the opening ceremony and the following celebratory banquet.
??
The afternoon opening ceremony was held at the Shanghai Library on Huai Hai Zhong Road on 23rd October and was attended by over 250 guests, including several leading dignitaries, government officials, TV and film entertainers and many artists and old friends of Mr Xu.
??
Rose Oliver was invited onto the podium along with the other VIP guests to make an opening speech to the attending audience, calling for greater inter-cultural exchange and communication between China and other western countries, particularly in the fields of art and culture.
??
The afternoon’s ceremony and art exhibition was quite an event and Mr Xu’s large mural-sized traditional Chinese paintings of mountains and water scenes, which have gathered a large following both in the States (where he lived for many years) and in China, were much appreciated by the large and enthusiastic group of guests.
??
?The exhibition hall at the library displayed around 400 paintings by Mr Xu, some dating back to the beginning of his career, right up until to the present date.
Some of our personal favourites were the real gold paint pictures of water and river valleys, plus the grand-scale large mountain and river scene at the entrance to the library exhibition hall.
???
The opening ceremony was followed by a large welcome banquet, with over 200 guests; DDA’s special guests were made very welcome and were treated to a delicious array of dishes and hors d’euvres.
The evening culminated in a spirit of festivity and friendship and with excitement for our future endeavour cooperating with Ms Wang San Mei for a joint International and Chinese Art Exhibition next year in May, to celebrate cultural and artistic diversity and enjoyment of the beauty of art.
??
Next year’s exhibition will be a great chance for artists and performers (both western and Chinese) to promote and share their work and talents with a wider audience and introduce more people to the flourishing art world around us, not only here in Shanghai, but also across the globe.
??
Ms Wang and Double Dragon Alliance are keen to introduce other artists from around the world and also outside of the classical and traditional, and welcome guests and friends to the Shanghai art and culture community to participate in this event, giving everyone a platform to showcase their own skills and expertise.
??
To find out more or to join us at what promises to be a glorious celebration of art, culture and international friendship, please contact Rose Oliver for more details.
