Shanghai American School & Shanghai University Joint Reading Club Project

I had a happy trip to SAS on April18th, 2010. Even though it was raining, we were excited in communicating with the students from SAS.
The SAS is very large and beautiful and the students are friendly. We met them in their library, which was bright and comfortable. We introduced ourselves one by one and so did they. They were confident and helped us use the “library thing”. (An online chat forum for discussing the books we are reading together).
Two of us from Shanghai University and two of the students from SAS made a group to discuss the details about the book, “Holes”. One of them read the paragraph and the other answered our questions. They were enthusiastic at helping us better understand the words and sentences. Some of the students can speak Chinese well so we didn’t have any difficulties in communication.
It was a precious chance for me to practice my spoken English and they taught me to be brave and confident. I like them very much because they are so cute.
