The Laozi Academy in Shanghai hosts regular classes and workshops on Daoist philosophy, and other aspects of traditional Chinese culture; and recently celebrated their traditional Mid Autumn Festival party at their headquarters situated in Jiao Tong University’s Huai Hai Rd campus.
Rose was inducted as an honorary member of the Laozi Academy several years ago and along with DDA’s regular senior coach Master Wang Ming Bo were also invited to participate in the activities, with a short demonstration of the Yang Style Taiji form DDA teaches, alongside performances of Kunqu Opera, Calligraphy, Chinese Ink Painting, Qigong, as well as introductions to understanding the artwork of ‘Thanka’ from Buddhist philosophy, from other special guests in attendance.
It was a marvellous afternoon of culture and friendship; thanks to Wang Gan Cheng, Xu Lin, Helen Zhao and the Academy president Mr. Ren for a wonderful event!
