On Saturday 15th January 2011, “Qahwa” Coffee House and Retail Company enjoyed its grand opening ceremony in Shanghai.

Situated at the Shanghai Difute Tea & Coffee Trading Company Complex at 1165 Gong He Xin Road, Qahwa’s General Managers and their Chinese partners opened their first store in China, selling a range of top quality Ethiopian coffees in their showroom and coffee bar.
Representing the Ethiopian contingent within the African Pavilion at the 2010 Shanghai Expo, Qahwa’s Manager Mr Endale Asfaw and his team offered guests to the Ethiopian pavilion, a taste of pure Ethiopian friendship, hospitality and delicious coffee!

At the opening ceremony on Saturday, Managing Director Mr. Abdul Ture and Mr. Endale Asfaw, together with Mr Orou-Yerima,an African comedian, singer and actor, who also performed at the 2010 Shanghai Expo, hosted the grand opening, treating the VIP guests, trade partners and other invited guests (including Dr. Elio Gamboa, ?the Angolan Pavilion EXPO representative and Mr. Chen Jin Tian Director of the African Pavilion Department from the Bureau of Shanghai World EXPO Coordination?to a delicious blend of Ethiopian coffees and introduction to the Qahwa company.

The event was wonderfully innovative and fresh and an enthusiastic crowd of international guests enjoyed the chance to celebrate Qahwa’s long-held dream of opening their business in Shanghai, plus mix and enjoy each other’s company, sipping some wonderful coffees!
