Shanghai Expo Double Dragon Alliance April Fool’s Day Pyjama Party

On 1st April DDA held a special fancy dress Pyjama Party to celebrate April Fool’s Day and to welcome the forthcoming Shanghai Expo.

The theme was to honour the custom of some of Shanghai’s residents and although in recent years, less and less people pop out for a stroll in their PJ’s, it’s still one of Shanghai’s quaintest traditions.

Prizes for the best PJ’s went to DDA member and regular supporter of DDA events, Ms Evelyne Tissier of the Norwegian Consul, wowing everybody with her “Hello Kitty” pyjamas and who also very kindly provided the delicious homemade biscuits and mini-quiches for the guests.
Prizes also went to Arthur, one of Rose Oliver’s students from Shanghai University and to Jane (Zhang Han Fei 张寒菲) one of Rose’s students from Shanghai University for Science and Technology, who also got into the spirit of things, with Jane dressing in a dashing set of “leopard” print PJ’s with matching bag and shoes!
