DDA’s Rose Oliver and Master Wang Ming Bo were invited by Mr. Sven Eriksson to organize a Taiji activity and tour of Shanghai’s Fu Xing Park for his Swedish/Chinese joint venture company’s Swedish guests, in Shanghai for a three-day tour.
The party of 25, staying in the old French Concession’s Jin Jiang Hotel had a short tour of the local area on the way to Fu Xing Park, for an introduction and tour of the park, followed by some warm up exercises and Taiji training, concluding with a demonstration of Chen Style, Yang Style and Wu Style Taiji forms.

The group also had some impromptu tuina treatments with Master Wang, helping to iron out some of the physical kinks and problems caused by long haul flights, as well as individual long-term health conditions.

It was a very enjoyable morning, looking around the park and experiencing local life and the variety of activities held in the park, as well as a chance for the international guests to participate in some Chinese wushu training.

Thanks to Sven, who is also a student at DDA’s regular Taiji class on Thursdays, for inviting us to provide his guests with an insight into one of Shanghai’s beautiful parks and way of life of its citizens.
